I developed the website for Sidekick Publishing, an indie games publisher connecting developers, content creators, and player communities. Built for a customer, the project combines a Nuxt 4 frontend with a Strapi 5 headless CMS to bring the publisher's games, team, and community together in one place.
Automatic deployments connect content editing to the live website. A content update in Strapi triggers a new frontend build on Cloudflare. Nuxt fetches the latest CMS content, prerenders all pages, and generates sitemap entries for the game catalog. Cloudflare then deploys the updated site, keeping the published pages in sync with the CMS without a manual deployment step.
Game Discovery
The homepage puts the games first, opening with a featured release and an interactive catalog with large artwork and game previews. Players can explore a title, follow its store links, or connect with the publisher on Steam and Discord. Sections introducing the team and inviting collaborations give developers and potential partners a direct route to the people behind the games.Individual Game Pages
Each game has a dedicated page with its own artwork, description, release information, platforms, genres, and store links. Reusable media sliders bring screenshots and trailers into the same browsing experience, while the shared component structure keeps the catalog consistent as new titles are added.Content Management
I structured the Strapi backend around the content the publishing team needs to maintain: games, homepage features, team profiles, navigation, social links, and legal pages. Reusable content components and draft-and-publish workflows let editors prepare updates in the CMS. Game entries also include their own SEO fields, so page descriptions and search metadata can be managed alongside the content.Cookie Consent & Embedded Content
The website integrates Cookiebot to manage cookie consent and block cookies that require consent until visitors opt in. This also covers embedded content: YouTube iframes and Steam widgets remain blocked until the relevant consent is granted, so visitors control whether these third-party embeds load.Frontend & Delivery
The frontend uses TypeScript, Bootstrap, and SCSS for a responsive, component-based implementation, with Motion V providing reveal animations. The website is deployed on Cloudflare Workers & Pages, while the CMS runs in Strapi Cloud.Automatic deployments connect content editing to the live website.
